Uptown Glassworks hosts a diverse selection of hand-blown glass from over 90 local and regional glass artists. We employ 10 glassblowers who create an outstanding array of glass for the gallery.
Whether you're picking out a gift, planning a birthday party, or catering a corporate event, we are here to help you have a great experience.
Uptown Glassworks was established in 1994 and our building has an interesting history that dates back to 1902. In its inception, it was a livery (The OK Livery & Transfer Station), which was a housing station for horse and buggy. It then housed trolleys, and became the Rainier Trolley Line, sending trolleys out to the country from its center.
In the 1950s, it became the "OK Garage", a gas station and repair shop. The open beam rafters, the shape over the entry, the loft, and the brick & mortar all lend itself to a unique venue for private events and parties, and we can comfortably host parties up to 80.
Claims of ghosts and poltergeists surround the history of Uptown Glassworks, but we think the staff has scared them all away! But if you want a story, we have one — or two!
